Healthy Chocolate Ganache is perfect for cakes, cupcakes, or even just eaten on its own. High protein chocolate ganache made with protein powder, sugar-free chocolate and no heavy cream!

Do you love chocolate? Of course you do! But what if I told you that you could enjoy a delicious, decadent chocolate ganache without all the guilt? That’s right, this healthy chocolate ganache recipe is made with only natural ingredients and is lower in sugar than traditional ganache recipes.

It’s perfect for a quick and easy treat or for using as a frosting or filling for cakes, cupcakes, or other desserts.

Trust me, I had a hard time not eating a bowl of it plain!

Ingredients for Healthy Chocolate Ganache Recipe

Healthy chocolate ganache is made with just a few simple ingredients, and it’s packed with protein and antioxidants. Plus, it’s vegan and gluten-free, so it’s perfect for everyone to enjoy.

  • Chocolate Protein Powder – I recommend Quest Nutrition chocolate protein powder here.
  • Sugar-free Chocolate – I used the one from Lakanto (discount code HAYLSKITCHEN).\
  • Zero Calorie Powdered Sugar – I used Lakanto Monk-fruit powdererd sugar (discount coed HAYLSKITCHEN)
  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder or Cacao Powder
  • Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • A bit of Coconut Oil

How to make a Chocolate Protein Powder Ganache:

This high protein chocolate ganache is so easy to make, and it only takes a few minutes.

Simply heat up some coconut oil and chocolate chips, then stir in the protein powder, cocoa powder, milk and sweetener.

That’s it! You can then enjoy this ganache as is, or use it to top your favorite desserts.

How to store Protein Chocolate Glaze

This protein chocolate glaze is best poured on the cake immediately since it hardens as it cools.

To store this sugar-free chocolate glaze, keep it in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days. When its time to use, reheat in microwave until smooth (don’t over-heat).

Alternate Ingredients for Healthy Chocolate Glaze for Cake:

I made this healthy chocolate glaze a sugar free recipe using the chocolate and protein powder, but here’s some options you can try.

  • Sugar Free Chocolate: Regular dark chocolate
  • 1:1 Zero Calorie Sugar Replacement: Regular powdered sugar (this won’t be sugar free though, and also higher in calories)
  • Coconut Oil: Use melted Butter
  • Almond Milk: Regular Milk

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoon Chopped Chocolate, 84g, Sugar-free recommended below
  • ¼ teaspoon Coconut Oil
  • ¼ cup Chocolate Protein Powder, Whey-casein, 22g
  • 2 tablespoon Unsweetened Cocoa, 10g
  • 2 tablespoon Zero Calorie Powdered Sugar Replacement, 16g
  • 7 Tbsp + 1 tsp Unsweetened Almond Milk, 110ml

Instructions

  • Place the chopped chocolate and coconut oil in a shallow bowl and microwave for about 40 seconds – at 15 second intervals – until it’s completely melted. Let cool about 5 mins.
  • Add in chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, powdered sugar and milk, and whisk.
  • Microwave if it gets too thick.

    This sounds fabulous. I’m not sure if you meant to say it’s vegan, because whey casein protein powder is used. Would there be any adjustments you’d recommend if trying with a plant-based protein powder? Thank you.
