Do you love peanut butter? Do you love honey? If so, then you’re going to love these Honey Peanut Butter Protein Bars! Not even kidding. They’re so so flavorful with the honey and peanut butter going on, and also really good in texture.

They’re easy to make, delicious, and packed with protein. Perfect for a quick snack or on-the-go breakfast, these bars are sure to become a staple in your diet.

Ingredients for Honey Peanut Butter Protein Bars:

These honey peanut butter protein bars are made with just a few simple ingredients, including cheerios, peanut butter powder, peanut butter and of course honey! They’re also packed with protein and lower in carbs and fats, making them a great choice for anyone looking for a healthy snack.

  • Cheerios Cereal – A toasted Os cereal like Cheerios works best here, but you can also use Chex Mex or Lucky Charms and such.
  • Vanilla Protein Powder – key for the high protein bars.
I used Quest Vanilla protein powder here.
  • Unflavored Protein Powder to add extra protein. I recommend the Multi-purpose mix protein powder from Quest Nutrition.
  • Peanut Butter Powder, also known as Powdered Peanut Butter. I recommend Lakanto (code HAYLSKITCHEN gives you a discount).
Or you could use the one from PbFit too.
  • Honey flavor Peanut Butter from American Dream Nut Butter (code HAYLSKITCHEN gives you a discount).
It’s flavored, lower fat and higher protein than normal, and just amazing .
ADNB has other amazing flavors that would work well here too.
  • Honey
  • Water

The Honey Peanut Butter Layer

These bars have a sweet and salty high protein honey pb layer as well!

  • Vanilla Protein Powder; I recommend the same here too Quest Nutrition.
  • Unflavored Protein Powder from Quest Nutrition
  • Honey flavor Peanut Butter from American Dream Nut Butter again (code HAYLSKITCHEN gives you a discount).
  • Peanut Butter Powder from Lakanto (code HAYLSKITCHEN gives you a discount)
  • Honey
  • Water

And for the Chocolate Topping:

  • White Chocolate Chips or Chopped Chocolate. I would recommend Lily’s to keep it sugar free.
  • Coconut Oil so the chocolate is easier to melt and more smooth when you drizzle.

Tips for Honey Peanut Butter Cheerio Protein Bars

This recipe for honey pb cheerio protein bars is super easy to make; One of those “mix ingredients in bowl and press down into pan” recipes. Here are some pointers for them though:

  • Use whey-caesin protein powder since it works well with the ratio of ingredients here. If you use a whey protein powder, you might want to adjust the amount of milk to make it less.
  • Use creamy peanut butter so it blends well with the other ingredients
  • Mix all the dry ingredients before adding the water
  • Add water only a little at a time or the mixture will be too runny
  • Mix the ingredients well before adding in the cheerios so you have a smooth binder
  • Press layers down firm so the bars hold well
  • Add coconut oil when melting chocolate or it will not be smooth enough to spread on the cereal breakfast bars.

To store Honey Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars

Honey peanut butter cheerio bars have to be stored in am airtight container in the fridge or freezer so they stay fresh and last longer. They keep on the countertop for 1 day, in the fridge for up to a 1 week and in the freezer for 2 or 3 months.
Be sure to thaw frozen honey peanut butter protein bars on the counter before eating!

Alternatives for Healthy Honey Peanut Butter Bars Recipe:

I made this healthy, sugar free and gluten free and low calorie honey peanut butter bar with this particular ingredient list, but here’s some options to choose from.

  • Cheerios/Os Cereal: Rice chex or other large crunchy cereal
  • Unflavored protein powder: Unflavored Collagen, or even Almond flour or Oat flour
  • Honey flavored Peanut Butter: Use regular peanut butter, or even Cashew Butter, Almond Butter, Hazelnut Butter or Tahini
Be sure to add a bit of extra honey and less water in this case.
