Protein Powder Waffles are a great way to get that post-workout protein in. Either light and airy or dense and fluffy, they’re much better than a regular protein shake!

I love these a waffle lot 🙂
Protein Powder Waffles because I’m so so done with having just plain vanilla protein shake all.the.time.

Come on, don’t tell me you’ve never gotten tired of your protein shake. Even if its just a day or 2, you must have had those times when you took that first sip and were just like no. But you still force yourself to down that thing because post-workout gains.

This is a 10x better way to get that protein in.

The consistency of these waffles can vary depending on the protein powder. Mine were light and crispy, but they can also turn out fluffy.

One very important tip for these protein powder waffles though coz that’s what messed up: Do not – I repeat, do not – overfill the waffle iron. That batter’s gonna rise quite a bit, and you don’t want to waste any of it by having it ooze out of the machine from the sides do you?

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder, ⅓ cup, about 30g
  • ½ teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Coconut Oil, Melted, or other
  • 3 tablespoon Water, or more depending on protein powder

Instructions

  • Preheat and lightly grease waffle iron.
  • In a small bowl, combine and uniformly mix protein powder and baking powder.
  • In a large bowl whisk egg, oil and water as required to thin the batter out.
  • Pour half batter into prepared waffle iron. Do not fill it all the way to the top or the batter will spill out.
  • Cook for about 3-4 minutes or according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Remove from waffle iron and repeat with remaining batter.

Notes

  • Make sure you don’t overfill the waffle iron. Use less batter than you would for a regular waffle since these rise a lot and the batter will spill out.
  • Makes 1 medium round waffle.
