Funny story here – I posted a story on Instagram this one time of a carrot hummus + goat cheese toast, and someone thought it was a pumpkin spread.

The combination actually sounded absolutely FIRE ? so I wanted to give that a try.

But then I thought of trying to make it a little extra high protein by using cottage cheese instead of goat cheese. It really did turn out to be one FIRE of a combination.

And so here we are!

Best part is that this recipe is super duper easy to make and actually has the most minimal ingredients too!

Ingredients for High Protein Pumpkin Spread

This protein Oreo spread uses sugar free chocolate sandwich cookies for a healthy recipe that you can indulge in without guilt. Here’s all you need.

  • Pumpkin Puree; Not the pumpkin pie filling; This is the plain pumpkin puree.
  • Vanilla Protein Powder; This is the source of protein and some sweetness in the pumpkin spread recipe. I recommend a whey-casein blend from Quest Nutrition.
I’m sure you can use a whey isolate too!
  • Unflavored Collagen for an extra boost of protein. I use this one from American Dream Nut Butter. Use my code HAYLSKITCHEN when you buy to get a discount.
  • Pumpkin Pie Spice

Healthy Vegan Pumpkin Spread?

This healthy pumpkin spread recipe is really to make Vegan – Just use a plant-based protein powder like KOS Vanilla.
Be sure to taste and add stevia sweetener if needed.

Also avoid the collagen; You can use some unflavored protein powder like this one from KOS instead.

Dairy Free?

To make the spread in itself dairy free, use a vegan/plant-based protein powder.

Gluten Free and Guilt Free Spread?

This guilt free pumpkin spread recipe is gluten free by default! Just make sure you use a gluten free bread if you want to make the toast.

How to make Protein Pumpkin Pie Spread from Scratch?

This protein pumpkin pie spread might just be the easiest recipe I’ve made! You actually just mix the ingredients in a bowl!

  1. Combine pumpkin puree, vanilla protein powder, collagen peptides and pumpkin pie spice in a bowl.

That’s all it takes to make this high protein Fall spread!

To Store this Low Calorie Pumpkin Spread

This low calorie pumpkin spread needs to be stored well so it doesn’t go bad soon, or catch any odors.

Refrigeration!

Store the sugar free pumpkin spread in the refrigerator.

Airtight Container:

Use an airtight container so the spread doesn’t catch any odors from outside.

Consume Within 3 Days:

Homemade protein pumpkin spread is best enjoyed within 3-4 days. While it can last longer, it tastes best fresh.

How to eat Sugar Free Pumpkin Dessert Spread?

I absolutely loved this sugar free pumpkin spread on toast, but you can turn it into any dessert you’d like. Here’s some options:

  • Healthy pumpkin spice spread on a slice of toast
  • Pumpkin pie spread on a waffles or pancakes
  • Use this healthy pumpkin spread as a dip for apples or other fruit
  • Make a guilt-free snack with this pumpkin spread on crackers or pretzels
