This fast emergency recipe for garlic bread uses hamburger buns, but you can also use hot dog buns or sandwich bread.

All the goodness without making a trip to the store for that ginormous baguette.

I guess you could stick to the classic, scale up this recipe and do that too – never too much garlic bread right? As long as you have enough of that delicious garlic butter blend, you’re good to go!

Well I didn’t have any, but you can store the cooked leftover homemade garlic bread in your freezer for a rainy day.

How? After you bake the garlic bread, let it cool, freeze them on the pan, then wrap it in plastic wrap, place in freezer safe zipper bags and freeze.

As for the how to reheat without it getting hard, just bake the garlic bread at 375°F for about 10 minutes or fry it in the air fryer for about 8 minutes.

A quick and easy homemade Garlic Bread made with Hamburger Buns! Crunchy, garlicky and buttery, this is the perfect emergency recipe to satisfy your garlic bread cravings.

Ingredients

  • 1 Hamburger Bun
  • 2 teaspoon Butter, Softened
  • 1 teaspoon Minced Garlic
  • ½ teaspoon Parsley, Chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon Olive Oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with foil.
  • In a small bowl, mix together all the ingredients for the topping until uniform.
  • Slice open the bun in half.
  • Use a butter knife to spread the mix on each open face of the bun.
  • Place the bun halves, face-up on the lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-18 minutes
    OR
    Air-fry at 375F for 8-12 minutes
    until the edges are golden-brown
  • Use a pizza cutter or serrated knife to cut each piece into 3 sections.

Notes

  • Use sandwich bread, hot dog buns or baguette if preferred, but make sure to adjust the baking time.
Storage:
  • Allow bread to cool,
  • Transfer to parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze.
  • When frozen, place in freezer-safe zipper bag or airtight container and freeze.
  • To reheat, bake at 375°F for about 10 minutes or in an air-fryer at 350°F for 8 minutes.

    I really wanted to like this recipe, and I followed it exactly, but I found it overcooked and dry, with a bit too much parsley.

      SO sorry about that. Let me adjust the recipe to mention a baking range so one can check earlier.

      Some breads might get hard quicker than others, so that’s what might have happened there.

    Quick, simple and delicious. Used leftover potato hamburger rolls since no one had to time to stop for a crusty bread. Everyone commented on how tasty they were and all were eaten.
