Meet Haylee: The Engineer Behind Your New Favorite Treats
Hi, I'm Haylee - a Software Engineer cum recipe developer, and I bring the same methodical, problem-solving approach to my kitchen that I use debugging code. (Curious how I got here? Read my full story.)
But I hit a wall: most high-protein recipes on the internet were dry, expensive, or required ingredients I couldn't find. So, I decided to fix it.
At Hayl's Kitchen, I specialize in accessible, high-protein indulgence.
Here is my promise to you:
- The "Texture-First" Guarantee: I use my engineering background to "debug" recipes until the dryness and sandiness are gone. If it gives you "Protein PTSD," I won't publish it.
- Supermarket Staples Only: You shouldn't need an expensive order from a niche health website to bake a brownie. If you can't find the ingredients at a standard grocery store or Amazon, you won't find them in my recipes.
- Skeptic-Proof Taste: My husband is my taste-tester and he hates the taste of "health food". If he can taste the protein powder or the "healthy substitute," the recipe goes back to the lab.
- Satisfying Your Sweet Tooth: I don't post salads (although I do eat them everyday). I focus on the things we actually crave-donuts, cakes, and waffles-recreated to hit your macros without sacrificing joy.
Join me and 50,000+ others on Instagram (and in the kitchen) as we prove that you can have your cake (and your protein) too.

My High Protein Baking Credibility: The "Food Engineer" Approach
Baking with protein powder isn't just cooking-it's science. If you've ever tried it, you know the pain of dry muffins, rubbery pancakes, or "healthy" treats that taste like cardboard.
I apply the same problem-solving skills I use as a Software Engineer to the kitchen. I treat every recipe like code that needs to be debugged until it works perfectly.
