Okay I really have no idea why I took so so so long to get to this recipe. I made simple vanilla flavored protein crepes a while ago, and had added the chocolate to my list back then.

I guess all those other baked goods took for a bit, but man these chocolate crepes are something!

Definitely not something you should wait for.

No flour, no sugar, no eggs, no jargon; Look at those amazing macros. Probably some of the most macro friendly crepes out there!

The 4 Ingredients for Chocolate Protein Crepes

These chocolate protein crepes are flourless - aka gluten free, keto and low carb - and are made with just the most simple and basic ingredients out there.

  • Chocolate Protein Powder for high protein crepe that's also sugar free.
I used ProteinWorld Whey, but the ProteinWorld Slender Blend is another great option. Code HAYLSKITCHEN gets you a discount on both.
A third alternative would be Quest.
  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder or Cacao Powder
  • An Egg Whites - Even more protein! This also serves as binder in place of whole eggs for a low fat recipe
  • Unsweetened Almond Milk

And then cooking oil spray for cooking.

How to Make Chocolate Crepes with Protein Powder

Other than the simple ingredients, these low carb chocolate protein powder crepes really are super easy to make as well!

  1. Whisk all ingredients - protein powder, cocoa powder, egg whites and milk - in a bowl.
  1. Heat nonstick pan or skillet on medium-low, and spray with cooking spary; Swirl to spread.
  1. Scoop out about ¼ cup mixture at a time onto pan, and swirl around to spread into thin circle.

How to know when Protein Powder Crepes are ready:

Cook for about 1-2 minutes.

The top surface should be mostly dry, only slightly wet in the very center.

Flip and cook other side another 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Tips for perfect Chocolate Protein Powder Crepes

These 4 ingredient chocolate protein crepes are really quick and easy to make, but you need to keep a few things in mind to get them perfect.

  1. Whisk ingredients completely to form a smooth runny batter.
  1. Use a nonstick pan so the crepes spread evenly and easily and don't stick to the bottom.
  1. Medium-low heat to prevent the protein crepes from burning before they cook.
  1. Grease the pan well, again so that the crepes don't stick to the pan.
  1. Swirl to spread the mixture around quickly to spread into a thin circle; This way you have a thin foldable or rollable crepe
  1. Let the top surface almost dry out - a sign that the bottom is also cooked completely; This way you won't have to double flip later.

Alternatives for Healthy Low Calorie Crepes Recipe

These keto high protein crepes are a great healthy recipe with these ingredients, but here's some other options to make it your own.

  • Chocolate Protein Powder: Try a vanilla; The cocoa powder should still give you the chocolate flavor
  • Cocoa Powder: Raw cacao
  • Almond Milk: Any other non-dairy or regular milk

Make Vegan Protein Crepes

Make chocolate protein crepes vegan and without eggs, replace the replace the egg whites with 6 tablespoon of aquafaba (chickpea cooking liquid).

You also want to make sure you use a plant based protein powder for these protein crepes; ProteinWorld has a Vegan one too.

So good! And easy! I did add a bit of avocado oil to the batter because my first one stuck horribly to my non stick pan. It helped a ton.

Oh no! Yes having a nonstick pan really does help here. So happy it turned out well in the end 🙂

I’m giving a 2 star because this is day 2 of making these crepes, and they fall apart like none other. I’ve done everything with 4 batters. It’s a 5 star flavor but only because probably the protein powder I’m using.

      Hi Ethan!

I'm so sorry the crepes didn't work out the same for you.

Did you use whey-casein protein powder or Whey?

I used whey-casein and I know that it absorbs more moisture than whey. If you used whey, you probably would need less milk so the batter is thick.

      Let me know!

I think you can eat all three crepes as 1 serving . Wish she would have replied to you.:)

Thanks for answering for me Lisa 🙂 I'm a bit backlogged on the comments here.

And yes, all 3 at once was what I did. Haha

    Hi,

Question, so the serving says 3 "6 inch" crepes. Does that mean this makes 3 servings (i.e, 18 crepes?) or does it mean it is 1 serving which is 3 "6 inch" crepes?

Hi Tiffany, Sorry for taking a while to get back. The 1 serving is 3 “6 inch” crepes (i.e., the recipe makes 3 “6 inch” crepes) and you can have them all at once 🙂

Okay so this is probably the fastest I've tried one of your recipes and I am so glad I didn't wait. Definitely making these again for post breakfast dessert. I'm thinking of combining the protein frosting of yours next time! I'll let you know how that goes!!!

This really made me smile 🙂 These crepes do make a great dessert too. The protein frosting on top sounds amazing, I really would love to know how that ends up tasting.
